Back in America Publisher: Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 2, 2026
Back in America Publisher stores one thing: the TikTok access token and refresh token for the Back in America podcast's own TikTok account. Those tokens stay on the podcast team's own computer and are used only to upload video drafts. We do not sell or share data with anyone.
What the tool is
Back in America Publisher is a small internal tool used only by the team behind Back in America, a podcast hosted by Stan Berteloot (backinamericathepodcast.com). It uploads short video clips from the show to the podcast's TikTok account as drafts. A team member then reviews each draft in the TikTok app and decides whether to post it. The tool does not post anything publicly by itself.
The tool is not offered to the public and has no user accounts of its own. The only TikTok account connected to it is the podcast's own.
What we request from TikTok
The tool uses TikTok's Login Kit and Content Posting API and requests two permissions. The first, user.info.basic, provides the account's open ID, avatar and display name. The second, video.upload, sends a video to the account's TikTok inbox as a draft.
What we store
The tool stores the access token and refresh token for the podcast's TikTok account on the podcast team's own computer, so it can make uploads. It stores no data about other TikTok users. It uses no advertising and no tracking.
Removing access and deleting data
Anyone can revoke the tool's access at any time in TikTok's settings, under Security and permissions, then Manage app permissions. To ask for any stored data to be deleted, email stan@backinamericathepodcast.com.
